I unfortunatly wrote off my 300tdi yesterday, due to some prick driving in the middle of the road. I now have a £2000 budget to get a landy which is gunner be a bit run down (crappy) or a decent ish smaller car.
I love landys but im having second thoughts on running costs.
Can any one re-ashore me that getting another defender is the right thing to do....

if you need reassureing then perhaps you need to buy a car. a true fan wouldent even consider the question

You wrote off your landy...
That must of been some whallop!
They normally are made of stern stuff these beasts of metal!

When the insurance pays out use that to get another 110 or 90.

Fuel isn't a problem if you budget and cut back on the crap. At least that's works for me anyway...

nothing puts a smile on my face like my landy :D

my dad gave me a shot of his E350 coupe - it can shift - i was smiling for the first 20 mins or so .... then the speed got boring , you realise you just blend in to the obscurity of all them other fancy exec cars and you look like a knob :D

my defender is ace though - i was never a car person till i bought mine for the snow ! never smiled so much since driving this.

as for fuel - i have a 1.9D pug partner - it does 40mpg on my commute

i have a 2.5 TD landy - ok it only does 55 without screaming its nuts off but returns 31mpg on the same route (pre service it was 17mpg!)

oh yeah - get another landy - how bad is yours though ? enough left to be worth buying back if it was in good condition ?

With the adverse weather we've had for the last few years running it's easier than ever to justify having a landrover instead of a car. If yer having to ask the question of whether you should get another one or not then surely the answer for you is NO.

MMMMMMM let me think for a second, to slow, defo another landy, if your thinking of a car though try a freelander LOL :D:D:D

As mentioned... a 90/110 will still be worth pretty much what you paid for it in a years time..... a car wont! (Definately steer clear of freelanders, better off with a golf!)

...until it snows. I know, I have both. And my BMW convertible 328 would get the same price I paid for it a couple of years ago. It's definitely a car.. :p

2 posts and both just to try and spam the series? Well at least you have left your phone number on a public forum :p

Seriously OP, if your thinking about it then you will probably be happier with a car and just muddle through the couple of weeks of bad weather. If you wanted another landy then there would be no question
