Been looking at this item on that well known aution site. Item number 251216047594. Cant figure out links and stuff on my phone.
Looks nice on the outside, been emailed copies of reciepts and invoices, ex scottish power . Mileage is very high in my eyes and i dont know enough about landrovers to make a decision, and wouldnt know where or what to look for if i went to see it.
Looking at it it will need tyres soon too.

Trying hard not to be sucked in by the shiney paint !

Is it worth a look and what about that engine (240k +)

Why did it need so many parts replaced?
There are several 110 utilities available for that price... 3 years younger... lower mileage... and such. As you say... the shiny paint tends to blur the vision.
As for what to look for - several excellent threads on here about just that! :search:

240,000 miles is a lot but if it's been well maintained it could do double that , I've had a transit with 400,000 on it when I sold it

When refurbishing anything people replace parts that have nothing wrong with them "just in case"

You need to look at it, drive it then haggle, new tyres needed is a good way to ask for £500 off

It looks nice and I assume he fixed any rust.. not just painted over. But where are the mechanical repairs?

to be honest, it's all great that it's shiny.. but in 18 months time it will start to get rust.

Thats been on various sales sites for weeks now. If it was worth the money it would have gone when the snow arrived.

Well - I have talked myself out of this one - it might look nice on the outside, might have had the chassis etc sorted out - but that mileage is a big issue, especially with nothing to say what has been done engine and running gear wise.
Top marks to whoever did the bodywork, but the body is not much use if the engine gives up a month down the line.
Not even going to go see it - my resolve might crumble if I do !
