Belt off, I can turn the part where the belt runs by hand while the front stays static, you can make what sounds like metal touch metal. 99.9% sure it’s what my turn off squeak and rattle is but want to be sure as funds are too tight to replace parts for fun!

That should be a harmonic balancer with rubber in it to dampen out the pulsations of the engine.

I know nothing about it, but perhaps the harmonic balancer has failed. I am sure someone will be along soon that knows about it.
