Good evening, I got my 1992 defender about 6 weeks ago and keep finding little bits that are not standard, like the stainless steel mid box/pipe jobby. Anyway back on point, I know for a fact that the shocks are not the standard defender shocks, I think that they are pro comp on standard coils, but can not be sure as the paint work has been blasted off and then waxoiled by the previous owner :scratching_chin: , if they are pro comp, is there a way i can tell if they are the standard hight or the +2" shocks that i know that pro comp produce?

I hope this makes scence and im not being thick and wasting everyones time! Rich

Pro-Comps should be white……well mostly

There should a be a serial or part No. on the bottom half running round the base (I think) my Monroes had that but I'm replacing them with Pro-Comp plus 40's, I'd check for the location but they havent arrived yet :L

No, even though there are a mass of recipts for MOTs and welding work, unfortunately nothing for the shocks :( , I will have to try and find this serial No' and have a look more towards the top of one the front turrets to look for any evedence of white paint that may have survived. Thanks for the words of wisdom! Rich.
