Since the move from Wooburn Green to be co-located in Slough with Stratstone Jaguar the quality of service at Stratstone Land Rover has plummeted.

Stratstone Land Rover have arrogant staff (which, based on our experience, comes from the top). Stratstone Land Rover don't return calls when they promise to do so. And Stratstone Land Rover lie to you about finance/warranty packages.

When we bought our new Land Rover Range Rover in 2007, the business management area of Stratstone Land Rover attempted to scare us into buying a finance package. More recently Stratstone Land Rover have made false (negative) claims about approved Land Rover extended warranties while trying to sell their own product (e.g. "more than twice the price").

From looking through various forums, our issues don't seem to be isolated. Anyone else had issues?

On the servicing side, apart from the inability to return calls when they promise to do so, Stratstone Land Rover also damaged the car while it was with them. On collection, they promised to sort it - but then didn't call. After numerous attempts to resolve this ("I'll look into it and call you back" - no call...), we had to escalate all the way to the Dealer Principal of Stratstone Land Rover, he then tried to imply we'd done it ourselves...nice.

Land Rover products are obviously selling themselves because the sales staff at Stratstone Land Rover seem to have no interest in doing so. Despite the service from Stratstone Land Rover, we love the products and were at one stage interested in buying a Land Rover Defender. Stratstone Land Rover sales staff couldn't have been more disengaged. "Since the snow, everyone wants a 4x4" - how short-sighted.

get a solictor, take em to court, don't join a forum just to start slagging off a dealer because after this thread i doubt if you will ever post again.

thanks for your post - it's a very fair point - I guess I did feel the need to share and from seeing other forums, including a section on this site, Stratstone Burnham seem to have let a lot of owners down so I wanted give a recent view to warn others - or at least make them aware

it's also customary to introduce yourself in the section upstairs and not start off with the rant straight away, give it a few posts first:D
anyway, take the car back, make sure there are customers about and firmly, politely but loudly voice all your concerns to whichever idiot decides to cross ya and inform them that you are taking legal advice over the matter;)

Get in touch with customer services at Land Rover. I'm sure they'd be interested to know if one of their dealers is taking the pi55. It's those sort of dealers that put people off going to main dealers. Good news for the independant dealers though !

Stratstone are rubbish, i used toy use them, they employ monkeys and feed them peanuts...you get what you pay for, they had such a bad rep in our aria that they soon went bust (non returning or new) customers word soon got around (Ashford Middx) they pulled out, of there top Heathrow branch because of it...steer well clear of them

Main Dealers are excellent :hysterically_laughi Know their stuff :hysterically_laughi and only sell genuine parts which we should all buy as they have a nut and bolt factory etc. :hysterically_laughi

They are so good that rather than suffer embarassment when they send wronly programmed new becm's back to base, they get them unlocked, on the QT so they can try again.:hysterically_laughi

Still, the Salemen wear nice smart suits.:mooning:

thanks all - suggestions from other owners seem to be Lancaster in Reading and Lookers in Park Royal - both have some very strong advocates - I know Lancaster well, but not from a Land Rover perspective and have always had good service - will give the Park Royal guys a try as it's on my way into work...

guy salmon ascot would be your best bet mate, the boys in the workshop at burnham are good lads they justr get f***ed by the company they work for consequently stratstone are losing they're decent techs

this is why we dont have a car industry in the country anymore , well that and the fact the cars were unreliable badly built pieces of crap.

shame really as it dosnt have to be this way

Well if you can afford a new Rangie money has obvioulsy come too easy to you.

top gear said it all tonight lol

Lookers at Park Royal? Only one experience with them and it wasn't promising....

Went in there about 3 years ago (they had IIRC just changed from something else) and enquired about buying a Defender new, they essentially said I'd have to go somewhere more "agricultural" as their core market was RR Sports etc... Wasn't impressed.....

Good to know where not to spend money! Usual minimal effort by main dealers yet they always take credit for the fact that 70% are supposed to be still on the road. Bull thats what they talk!!!

Solution buy a second hand highest spec RR and use an Indy and spend 3k a year on maintenance it will be cheaper than losing a grand a month in depreciation and getting Cr*p service from a stealer

I'd agree with last post. only had a few dealings with Guy Salmon, but always found them to be polite and helpful
