Hello to all, thinking of getting some new shocks + springs, spend about 90% on road and not bothered about any lifts could you guys recommend good brands that you have had experience with, to improve road handling, thanks for your time Ian
I just fiited Bilstein B6 gas shockers to my '93 Disco. Have only done the rear, but the difference was incredible. I was replacing original equipment at 49k miles mind you. The most noticable difference was over speedbumps, how quickly and gently the back end settles. I really couldn't believe the difference.
They are about £67 from Paddocks but you can get them quite easy from loads of places.
I am about to get a pair for the front to complete the setup.
I've had good success with Terrafirma suspension - TF119 is the part number for the Disco 2 rears. Much less money than Koni/Bilstein, but really strong and well built units.
They also do an extended unit. It also helps if you used a terrafirma coil spring as they are really well matched.
