Right so ears me gearing up for turning the front of Henry back into summat resembling a 2a and I hate the air intake for the heater on the near side 3 wing.
Im obviously too tight to buy new wings so I have a cunning plan to stick a snorkel over the ole.
I have an old looking tube and top hat bit off something, thats wrong handed but sure I can botch it onto the near side window pillar. Im also sure I can design, manufacture and fit a couple of old tatty bends to reach the aforementioned ole but what duz the collective think about nailing sumfin over the ole flangelike to finish it off?????????

It wouldn't look authentic for starter. A snorkel is for the engine air intake. You could investigate a short cowling with a side air intake to redirect the air into the heater mounted inside the engine compartment. Not sure if it would fit as room is tight. The heater needs cool air into the heat exchanger so again not sure if it would work. It's a trade off between appearance and functionality. You'd still have to patch the hole. Is a snorkel visually any different from the hole?

An interesting idea and has the advantage that although you will be sitting in deep water with a wrecked engine, at the heater will be going to stave off hypothermia (unless the electrics short out).

Feels a bit dodgy to take air from the engine bay for cab so happy to leave as is.This looks OK but too modern for me.

This one is a bit better and obviously on the engine intake side rather than used for heater intake.

Its never going to be used for wading so just to get rid of the S3 look.

Could you scavenge a panel from a scrappy or from an independent landy garage?
I dont want the hassle of re routing the heater so I can do away with the hole. Just thought an easy solution would be to cover it up with a flange and take a pipe up t't flue as it were.

I think it will be something like this but will have to finalise sizes and aestheticals
