So she's home, technically not mine but I'm gunna be doing most of the work on her and once I have my licence I will be on the insurance.

She is every bit as tidy outside as she looks in that picture, 174k on the clock, no apparent offroad use as we are in a seaside area so she should be eaten alive by rust but isn't.

She just has the usual niggles, loose switches, leaky rubbers etc.

I am in love, 300tdi ES :)

I'm dead chuffed...real case of first one seriously viewed was the right one for us. Nothing major planned in terms of work on her as she was bought mainly to be transport for our 3 big dogs (Belgian shep and 2 Czech wolfdogs) but having lurked on these forums for awhile I was well sorted to go and find some horror stories, this one hit ebay and was just around the corner and it's spot on.

Yeah I bought mine without seeing it! Saw one and went home to tell partner and someone else bought it so rang next guy and said ill take it :D

Had a good dig and here's the faults list for now... it's sooo scary!

Passenger seat has a bolt missing
hood release lever damaged
headlight clips need replacing
Steering wheel trim damaged
Passenger control console for light/sunroof needs replacing
rear sunroof interior trim missing.

Scary huh? all that is probably £40 max from breakers ;)

Beyond that she needs the rubbers replacing as I mentioned, a small hole
welding in the rear nearside wheel arch and some paint bubbles sanding
off and touching up before they become holes. Oh and the leather needs feeding.

She cost £1495, I'm living a dream ;)

Mine cost 650 ran fine till I took it off road for a couple of months now spent close to a grand to fix it up!! Solid underneath though :D

Just taken these to give a better idea than that pixellated mess above hehe as you can see she's got the all too common bubbling to sort out later (thinking of replacing the silver writing with matte black perhaps) but there is a part I need that I am hoping someone has but as I'm not into spamming I cannot ask in the wanted area yet...

The rear passenger seat pin/bolt which I am assuming to be a hex bolt same as the one on the other seat...it's kinda missing, kinda needed and I can't find one on ebay so does anyone have one lurking I can purchase?

That's just it, I haven't got a garage full of random bits lying around and my local scrappy didn't have any Landys today lol

Pm me your address and I'll pop a couple in a bag and send em to you!

I'd thought I'd lost that bolt - its only a short stubby little bugger!!

Found it in the dip thats in the bottom of the tub I keep all my landy bits in - turns out our darling daughter had worked the bugger loose and spin him off and dropped it in daddy's box as she figured she'd broken the sea as she was suddenly sitting on the wonk into the boot. :hysterically_laughi

Its a an easy yet satisfying fix, and not half as bloody fiddly as fitting the dog guard brackets if you have the dickie seats in!!

My dog guard is half in - just waiting for my wrists to forgive me enough to do the other side - access is interesting when you are fitting it with nuts and bolts not the rivnut kit.

I've gotta get dog guard and do that myself, going to get a rear access ladder too so that the roof bars are more accessible :)

Just ordered...

A few sets of headlight clip sockets (damn things, gunna have spares in the car)
rear ladder
dog guard
tailgate glass rubber seal

Oh and a bunch of tools including welding gear, got more tools to grab
at the weekend as missing some essentials like a torque wrench, decent
drivers and a grinder ;)
