I was just removing my rear axle breather to give it a clean out but as i turned the head of the nut the top of the breather sheered off:mad:. I am going to try and get the breather thread out of the axle with a pair of mole grips but when i have done that where is the best place to buy new breathers from?

Thanks

Where abouts are you buddie, i have a spare 90degree one that should fit in the back of my landy.

No need to unscrew next time.... as you will see the breather pipe is the push fit into the fitting. Should have been similar on your busted one? It wasn't a plain wading plug (no tube)that was screwed in was it?

It's called a banjo bolt (no idea why) it sounds the same as on my 90 and should look like this.

Yep - that looks like it but the head has sheered off in the collar that the pipe attaches to. Not enogh to grab with mole grips and it is well rusted in. I think i need to find another alternative:mad:

The collar will just lift off if the head has snapped off. and you'll have a stub sticking up. If not then eezy outs will do it.

I have heard of these thread extractors but have been told that they usually break before they shift the thread leaving me with a bigger problem than when i started. Do you rekon they would work then?
