My rangie is ready for collection monday after 5 months off the road a new short engine and top end rebuild chucked all the lpg **** and she has made my wallet £2600 lighter, was it all worth it, see how I feel when I drive her home

Rite she is back on the road all is fine apart from the abs and traction control light is on and when I turn the ignition off the display shows all windows and sunroof not set, she is is going bavk in next saturday for a flush out and antifreeze and a check over

ABS and traction control warnings are lit on mine when it first fires up but disappear after 50 metres or less of driving. Do yours stay lit regardless?

The windows not set is easy and nothing to worry about. Just operate them to the end of their travel in each direction and hold the switch down for 10 seconds or so. You'll get a message up saying window set or similar.

Hopefully in the light of this your car is actually in very good shape!

Yes I bought new heads and head gasket sets and then was told buy the garage the short engine was nackered so had to get a replacement and things just mounted up but u do learn from ya mistakes in life, the break pedal feels very abs'y when first set off then a warning saying abs fault then the lights come on and all is fine but I would imagine the abs and traction control are disabled, pulls fine though

As long as your happy you could of got another car but then it could have a host of other problems you must of know that it was worth it by the condition of the rest of the car so good luck and I hope it all settles in well . Are you going to do a 500 mile oil change ? Seeing as its just been rebuilt .

Done all the windows now just rite concerned about the abs and traction control light, would it need the codes clearing or would there be a genuine fault.

Seen as the battery has been off for months and all sorts of faults was present when the battery was going flat as it was in the garage, someone mentioned the abs pulsation damper thing next to the battery might be at fault

Do you mean the ABS accumulator. That stores pressurised fluid for the brakes, if it is duff and has lost it's charge of Nitrogen the pump will come on to often. If totally duff it may cause the lights to flick on when the brakes are applied.

Sorry its the same item I used to fit to diesel jet washes and thats what they was called.lol
When I first set off and brake I can feel the pedal pulsing then it alams and says abs fault brakes fine though when the lights are lit, will let garage sort it when it goes ffor its flush
