Hi Folks

I have a 2003 Disco V8

On Sunday morning after travelling about 45 minutes I noticed a strange noise after pulling away from some lights. I as only about 5 minutes from my destination and it crawled there with some strange noises from underneath.

All seemed OK when I arrived and I looked under bonnet etc and revved engine with no issues.

Later I went to drive home and it went 2 minutes and then a massive crash and bang from underneath. The car would not move. Got my mate and we looked underneath and notice the prop was hanging by the joint. It would not move at all... which confused us totally and thought gear box had gone. Looked again and saw that prop was getting caught by exhaust which was stopping it from rotating. Managed to tie this which meant we could oush it to a safe place.

Luckily the prop did not do damage elsewere..... cost to repair £550.... £350 for Land Rover Prop? Pricey?

Get a second hand prop between £20-£80, ujs maybe ok but if loose buy new still ten times cheaper
