cheers bin through all that...but if u kick the wheel souds like something lose if thats any help jack it up and it does not move

If you're jacking under the suspension (i.e. bottom arm) any worn parts can be compressed and then appear O.K. Jack chassis and let the suspension hang, this would show wear in bottom ball joint for instance.
 
swap the wheels around see if the problem moves, When you jack it up on the body most people rock the wheel top and bottom and side to side or left and right get hold of the wheel left and right and pull it towards the front of the car and back towards the rear. is there any movement there. If so this is the lower wishbone bushes and they do sound loud and clunky on rough roads and can cause the wheel to wobble at speed.
How do you know it's the front left? At speed you can only feel through the steering wheel unless you've had people hanging out the window?
