Hi,

I need new straps for my inward facing rear seats, as the fasteners have fallen out of the straps. However, they seem to be quite expensive for what they are, and so thought I might just make my own. The stumbling block is that I do not know the name given to they fastener. I have tried things like spring loaded eyelet etc but cannot find one anywhere. I should be able to buy them from somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

You can see the strap here...

Thanks in advance....

Hi station house,

I don't think these are the same. I am pretty certain that they are more of a hook fixing. I did find some for £10 each, but even that is dear for what they are. The strap is only £1 a meter, and I can't see the eyelets being more that a £1 each.

It's the name of the fastener that I want, not cheaper prices elsewhere.

Thanks anyway.

Bingo!

Excellent, so that's £2 for 2m of strap and £2.88 for the fasteners. A bit cheaper thank £40 for 4 original straps.

Thank you BenNE

It certainly is.

Most stuff for an old defender is relatively reasonably priced, and I couldn't bring myself to buy 4 of these for £40-£50!
