hi there every one, i have just bought a rebuild 300tdi 90 and the brakes have a problem, you really have to stand on them to get you to slow up let alone stop , i drove it home in fear of roundabouts , anyway if i take the airpipe of the servo with engine running i can just about feel suction, if i rev engine up i can feel suction, so am thinking vacuum pump ok and so would this point to servo and if so is it change the whole unit or is it repairable ie is the a diaphram to repair, or is it just not worth it ?????

can you hear a ticking from the pump?

Vac pump go often on 300s. my indi has sold 22 in 1 year compared with 2 for a 200tdi.

I would replace the vac and keep yours as a spare if it is no better.

I think the servo is a unit replacement.
