Would you know how to retrieve service historyHello
If there's no service book you could ask the previous owner. If it was serviced at the main dealer they may know. If it was done at a local garage then I doubt you'll ever know.

They carry out the missed servicing now, in order to be able to claim full service history as the vehicle is then up to date on servicing. Its not ideal as items like auto gearbox oil changes not being done when they should, would potentially cause damage to the box. There's always the risk they've lied anorl.
you're probably quite right! but how can you invent servicing?? you can't 'give it a good once over' then fill a book full of stamps! plus the dealer wont change gearbox oil as they are sealed for life

The theory is they have at least brought it up to current standard as they have changed all the service bits, be it a bit late in it's life. My car was 25k overdue according to the dash, if I service it 5 times in one go does that mean it's up to date

I was gonna put the mileage back by 30K then change the oil and stamp the book, then put it forward 5k change the oil and stamp the book, repeat where necessary

19 service stamps on mine. The guy must have worked there long time as throughout the 19 years he still used the same pen

I got the lot. Radio book (no original radio ) LR assured warranty extensions, 2keys everything. Original too I know who had it from day1.
