a friend of mine had the same thing on his the guy that fixed it said the rover axle fitted to the swb was much weaker than the salsbury and had a tendancy to strip the splines if u got it stuck in the mud and gave it a bit of welly to get it out about 20 quid for a new half shaft and it was sorted

cheers guys rh half shaft snapped, something the guy forgot to tell me,problem when buying non runners i guess,at least i can get it sorted now

werent they mine, i hope yer aint gonna ask fer munny fer em seen as i gave em to you ;)

we had this before, Yella - these are mine - yours are still int Dibnah!:D

anyroadup - halfshafts once owned by Yella and MHM - must be worth a cupple of undred in rarity and quality value?

create a fred in the anything goes section - asking fur carriers from hamshire to Derby - see if anyonr volunteers.

there is a guy wot goes from Essex to Manchester - he mite be prepared to drop em orf - if we can get them from here to essex.

I agree they're weaker than a Salisbury, a bit like saying a rhino is lighter than an elepahant, still wouldn't want it to sit on me.
I've never ehard of a series halfshaft striping splines (but I'm sure someone here has & proves me wrong) but they do snap. I've been driving Series motors since '75 (longer if you include Army ones) and I've snapped 3. One was getting shed loads of abuse, the other two snapped on the road.
For the record I've also done one diff (careless driving whilst towing) and 2 front shafts (both driver abuse) so I wouldn't call them weak.
