Hi folks
Firstly I have done a search and can't seem to find an answer. :D

I've been offered a pto winch off a series (not sure which series) According to the current owner he took it off his series due to the weight and had never used it or seen it working. From what he says its not hydraulic but shaft driven. Would I be able to fit it to my 89 110?

if you got a pto on t/box either underneath or rear drop box,and shafting with supports ,its possibly but hardly the easiest way of getting a winch

Thanks for the reply but it's a capstan winch and attached to the crank so not gona bother. Pity he was only looking 40euro for it.

If its only 40 euro buy it, stick it on ebay and get 5 times your outlay for it, will go towards the winch you want.

alot of capstans work straight form the engine,
IF (and its a big IF) its got all the bits, including the drive shaft for it, its worth a pretty penny, if it doesnt, its worth naff all, many end up without the shaft, crank pulley etc because they take the winch itself off, and leave the gubbins on the landy,
think it would be a fair bit of work top fit a capstan on a fender, they usually sit between the wings.

drive shaft missing, crank pulley... and the engagement mech by the look of it.

top is the capstan itself. bar is the rope bar (you can see where it goes) bottom is the engagement bit

Should be a shaft to go from the engagement bit to the winch (you can just see the stub through the hole be the lever.
A linkage that goes from the lever to the bit that engages the drive.
and a bit that goes on the end of the crank for the drive to engage with.

since theres more chance of finding rocking horse manure with hens teeth in it under as blue moon, id leave it.
