Hey Guys

I'm scheming here but I don't have a landy to measure, would anyone be kind enough to measure there 88 SII or III for me?

The measurements I need are:
1. Rear body length, back of front door to rear of tub.
2. Width of the lower body above and below the rolled side.
3. Length of the front guards.
4. Overal length of body, front of front guard to rear or tub.
5. Horizontal distance between centerline of rear axle and rear of body.
6. Horizontal distance between centerline of front axle and rear of front guard.
7. Width of the top of the windscreen.

Also does anyone know how deep a series one door is?

It'd be awesome if someone could help me out with some or all of the dimensions as I have no way of finding one to measure right now. Or if there is a website round that has all this info on it, I think the Haynes manuals give detail like this.

Cheers guys.

Thanks fer askin Disconewhere this has also been prayin on my mind for a while too and am still waitin on me bloody haynes t come:mad: otherwise i'd have an answer but heyho care to share your plans?;) Cheers, Jonathon

Hey Jonathon.

The plan is basically to take my perfectly good 200tdi Disco

and cut it up even more. it's too heavy, long, wide and tall as well as the disco body just ****es me off, I much prefer landrovers!!!!!

Here is what I'm thinking.

Get rid of the body to start with, shorten the chassis to 95" or 93, cut off all the unnecessary chassis bits, maybe move the engine and gearbox back a bit keeping the rear prop long enough still. 3 link the front suspension. That is the chassis done.
For the body I like the style of the early bowlers,

like this one, only I want a series one bonnet, I'll probably use cut down SII front guards and a SII/III canvas top and early 110 door tops. All around a nice tube space frame to keep it strong and light.

Basically the plan will be to end up with a light series one looking coiler on 35's that has the 200tdi in it, is as low profile as possible but has good articulation, integrated cage and of course I want to mid mount my 8274.

What do you think.
There will definitely be problems to over come that I bet tons of people have encountered down this path but thats what makes it a challange ha!!!!

WOW uve got some pretty great plans in store for that disco, that's gonna have some major surgery!! keep us all informed yeah? we're all rooting for you!!:D:D:D:D Cheers Jonathon
