Hi All,

First time post, here goes!

I have an '81 Series 3, 2.25 diesel. I had it out the other day, at one point it was a bit tricky to get it into reverse, I took a minute of pumping the clutch and wiggling the stick but it eventually went in.
I took it home, parked it up, got into the the next day and it won't engage reverse at all.
When I try to push the stick into position it wont go in, and if I try to hold it in position and let the clutch out it just grinds.
I also noticed in the past week that it's a bit tricky to get it from 3rd into 2nd.
Anyone any ideas? I'd hate to think I had to replace the gearbox, might be too costly for me at the minute.

thanks.

A worn clutch or a problem with the hydraulics can give these problems. Try bleeding the clutch slave.
