are series headlamps the same as 90s ? before i go ordering the wrong ones .could do with puting some halogen lamps on and have ordered a relay loom to acomodate.the lamps are listed separately on ebay

You need a new supply to feed the lights other than that original wiring at slam panel.
Some have had problems with length of leads to nearside headlight and getting plug into headlamp buckets.

It is a fairly easy job, it took me a little over an hour to get the loom in position and then the same amount of time tidying up.
I have a LHD so the lengths are a bit off and yes it is tricky getting the loom into the headlamp bowls.
The ceramic connectors use a bayonet style fitting, with a "0" screwdriver you can pop them out, then thread the loom into the bowl and reconnect.
Like this you will be able to use the original rubber plugs in the bowls, an alternative is to use hosepipe style fittings but you will have to drill out the hole a bit.
I fitted the relays where the horn is and used shrink wrap to keep them waterproof.
The power cable terminal are a bit ... cheap ... so i cut them off and replaced them with better "O"'s, then fed it directly from the battery.

I have replaced three headlight switches this year through burn outs so it was really time to make the change.
The H4's are also a lot lot better than the old sealed units.

Pardon my ignorance, does the boomslang only provide the wiring for the headlamps or is it for side lights and indicators too?
