Afternoon all,

Decided to cover up my new floor panels with something because they just look out of place. Not a fan of the rubber floor mats, wanted something that fits the look of my Landy (patina is the nice way of putting it).

Before and after...

Not carpet but outdoor doormats. About 7 quid a side from Argos. 60 x 90cm is big enough, draw around the floor pans as a stencil and a quick trim with the Stanley knife.

Also saves me having to buy a new gaitor for the transfer lever, just cut a slot in the mat.

Carpet is great and might help keep some noise down, but it will also hold water.. of course landys never leak

I always have a small puddle on the driver side floor after heavy rain. Ive got heavy duty rubber floor mats which hold the water nicely. Carpet would be nice but it wouldnt last long in mine

I've got no door seals and just a bikini top so everything gets wet in mine.

I realise now looking at the photos it looks like carpet... They're the outdoor door mats you'd often have by your back door rather than carpet. So hopefully water retention won't be too bad.

What’s wrong with rubber mats ? Next you’ll be hanging furry dice and painting on “go faster” stripes .

I have these and they are great for catching water when it rains heavy as there is a big lip all the way round the mate so if its been raining heavy and need to go out in the landy i just pull the mat out give it a shake and off i go :D

Agree with this, I have plain rectangular mats in mine but again a nice high lip allows it to collect all the water and for it to be emptied out of the vehicle!

You can make really good mats from the chain link mats off ebay
Just make sure the links tunn fore and aft, and not side to side
They look really good, and unlike normal rubber mats as they self drain they dont keep any water trapped underneath

It’s what you used to get in a series. The one I had nearly 40 years ago had those in it. Banging out the cow chit was a regular task.
Took a few days to deaden the sound again though :D
