Hi all

I have a series 3 and put a 2.5 N/A diesel engine in it, i brought a throttle cable for a 2.5 made a bracket on the bulkhead but the onl problem is the cable is miles to long every time i shut the bonnet the cable is pushed over and stops working correctly (acording to paddocks / mm etc land rover dont make a shorter one )

Has anyone on here had this problem when fitting the 2.5 diesel if so how did you get over the problem

Many thanks chris

Not had this problem with a landy but when I was into motorbikes and Lambrettas I used to get my cables made to measure at the local Bike chop shop. Or make my own using an either an adjustable cable nipple. Or soldering a new nipple onto the inner cable.

Ahem...

When I put my 2.5 NA into the series, I just used a length of welding rod between Series linkage and 2.5 pump, was only a temporary bodge, but it lasted a year....

i just used the existing cable and linkage off the 2.25 and connected it to what i think is the hand throttle lever on the 2.5 injection pump.
