Hi, I am due to change the cambelt on my 1977 series 3 SWB. It is fitted with a 200tdi engine. I believe that there are a few issues with this job due to the position of the chassis crossmember.

Can anyone who may of done this previously shed any light on any issues or offer advice prior to starting the swap?

Thanks

Dean

Issues? Should be quite straight forward. Tools usual the issue, dog nut removal tool and a torque wrench man enough to do it back up.

The only issue is due to the crossmember you cannot fit the flywheel locking pin.
So once you can see the cambelt, remember to mark the crankshaft cam belt pulley against the back of the timing case very accurately and at least in two places.

Thanks for the replies, all noted.
Grease the three bolts that surround the water gallery otherwise they will seize, once crank bolt tight mark it with tipex/paint so you cans ee if the bolt has moved.
