Super looking landy well done. The bulk head pillar replacement is identical to mine I'm about to do. Thanks for the inspiration.
 
Evening all, I believe this thread is somewhat behind the current state so i thought ill catch up a bit.

With the doors all sprayed there were fitted with the gloss black hinges which had been shot blasted and wet sprayed gloss black.

With the engine running and almost all the wiring done it was driven out the garage into the sun

As there is minimal sound proofing I added some 12 mm foam into the doors to reduce the panel resonance.

As I had initially planned to fit 3.54 diffs I purchased a set from a discovery and got them all painted up.
After driving it out the garage before it seemed too lower geared for the 200tdi

As seats had not yet been fitted I won the bid on a set of defender seats in pretty run down condition. But planned to retrim them with th exmoor trim seat cover kits.

The retrimmed seats looked great, looking back I guess blue stitching would have looked more in keeping with the blue hoses but red looks great anyway.

Finally got to drive offroad on some shropshire lanes. It was brilliant apart from gaining a few scratches in the paint from one lane that hadn't been cut back in a couple of years.
 
Currently, the series in the garage with collapsed front wheel bearings and fairly feeble brakes, Im working on a disc brake conversion for the front that should be progressing in a couple of weeks all being well. Other plans include a new gearbox as second has a nice crunch when changing down from third.

Well done lovely looking series! Rebuild the gearbollix yourself its not too hard with help from this forum. Also try an overhaul of your drum brakes, disc conversion isn't necessary if they are in good condition. A s3 servo twin leading shoe setup can be effective but simple to retro fit. I have been contemplating a gearbox rebuild. It doesn't seem to technical... But the only thing putting me off was the time required it was looking easier to let someone else rebuild it and pay the labour costs. However I will look into it I'm rebuilding a v8 so a gearbox may as well join the list.

Excellent results top shelf job..

On a totally different note, does the timber garage suffer from mold. Had one built in October, same set up.

As for the headlining. The hard top was from another vehicle that already had the lining fitted before I got it. It seems to be office style carpet just glued in place.

The pas box was from a discovery 1. It works really well but the drop arm does catch the spring when turning right during articulation. I plan to remove it and move it up a couple of inches so it doesn't catch anymore.

No problem, when I get to move the pas box I'll make sure I get some photos.

Picked up some defender disc parts from a mate this weekend and picked up a vented disc from john craddocks.

Planing to make a bracket to mount the caliper similar to a defender obviously not on the casting, similar to the Zeus kit.
