I know L/R parts are interchangeable but I have a series 2a military rolling chassis (solid) panels good and off the vehicle and have been offered a series 3 (chassis rotten ) otherwise all else good are most of the bits a straight forward swap I want the series 2a to retain its look (dash, wings etc ) but my springs, swivels, tyres have had it thought it may be better to swap them over etc just not sure how much of the series 3 i could use

some where on this wonderful site is a link that will lead you to a web page that lists the differences between the various landies.

can't remember what the chaps who pulled it out for me said but because mine is an early series 3 they used up surplus 2a bits apparently.

To the best of my knowledge the series 11a and series 111 had the same body, and even the same engine options .

When I was looking at it I'm sure there were differences with the way the back tub bolted to the centre crossmember, all tied in with seat belt mountings I think. I don't know what year the IIa Chassis was though.
Incidentally LR aren't the only ones to mix parts on the production line during the change over period, I've come across 2 Vauxhalls, 20 years apart, with a mix of exhaust parts. If I remember rightly the Bonsal book listed it correctly, the Unipart book didn't.
