Hi all, I have had a new and very unwelcome noise in my 1982 Series County 88, which is 100% from the front passenger side and I strongly suspect it is wheel bearing related! Only happened 3 times, all when going over pothole, and a very nasty short metal on metal screech, there is a bit of play in on the rim but before I dived into replacing the wheelbearing, I thought I would ask advice first, thanks in advance, D

Get on with the job and hopefully it will just be the bearing's [ might as well do the two ] And the stub axle its self may be OK. Sometimes bearing inner race will seize onto the stub.

Check the simple stuff first..U bolts have a habit of requiring re torquing periodically. Also check for a broken leaf spring.

Many thanks guys, I have her up on blocks and there is no noise from the hubs, no wiggle either! I will get to the bottom of it and let you know, many thanks, D

Check your leafsprings for any damage, plus u-bolts. Usually you can hear/ feel a knackered wheel bearing by moving/ spinning the wheel when jacked up. When jacking that side up, does the spring shackle move okay?
