Wondering if anyone could help! Struggling to remember where the leak off rail returns too? Does it return somewhere on the fuel filter housing or back to the tank?
If it does return back to the tank where abouts does it go?

To the tank but may T into the filter inlet depending on set up. Must go to tank as this is how the air gets bleed out, if its only to the filter then air builds up. There will be a second pipe on the tank.
 
Ok perfect thank you. If the tank in the vehicle is a petrol (engine changed) where should the return line go into the tank?

In the top - you can either make a bulkhead fitting using brass tube fittings or buy the part. Usually the retunr line is one size up on the feed line as there is very little pressure to make it flow, although
I have a feeling mine are the same size (also pertrol to diesel conversion). You may be able to modify sender top plate rather than cut a hole in the tank.
