Advice sort please: Just replaced the carb in my series 3 from a Chinese aftermarket to Weber and the choke cable attachment is on opposite side of carb, leading to the existing choke cable being too short. The kit came
With a new choke cable but I am struggling to see how to remove the existing choke wire from the choke assembly (on ignition column). I can add the new choke independently, but that would leave with two chokes on dash, looking strange and j would prefer to keep the orginal position. I have the choke cable pulled back through dash and therefore only bit to detach is at the assembly, but can not see how the cable is held in place.

Answering my own question in case someone else has the same issue. Was not clear but half way down the ignition assembly where choke is is a slight line. A very narrow flat edge screwdriver and few mallet strokes and it separates. Bring out whole assembly, and sheath comes off back and cable can be replaced. I added new sheaf to rear of assembly and used expoxy and some electrical tape to hold into assembly. Then was able to feed new choke cable and pull through, then can attach to carb. Only disappointment is new choke pull is bigger and in my opinion more ugly than original.
