Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone can help.
Yesterday I was driving uphill and put my foot down. The car started hesitating after a bit until it stopped. After about 20 turns it started back with no problems. I had this problem before and changed the fuel filter cleaned the air cleaner and changed the lift pump. Vehicle ran ok even uphill on full throttle but the hill was short. Yesterday I drove on a longer road uphill and when I decided to push the pedal down, the car started to hesitate, than stopped. If I drive at a quarter of the pedal car runs fine. May be this happens when car is in normal temp but have not tried.
I appreciate your help.

First thing to check is the mesh filter on the pick-up pipe in the fuel tank. They block and cause these fuel starvation issues. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

Definitly sounds like fuel starvation. Was the tank full and how steep was the hill? I have had it where when nearly empty and then tilted the pick up (faulty) will be above the fuel level and suck through air.

Thanks. I have checked the pipe but the mesh filter is not existent. Have blown pressure air through pipe and its clear. As for the fuel level its half full and the hill is normal not so steep, in fact I was going up on fourth gear at around 40 miles. What I noticed is that when I accelerate hard for a bit long that this happens. Hope there is nothing in the fuel tank that once again blocked the pipe however I am truly confused.

There is also a filter in the injector pump head...where the fuel line runs in...or is that the out...its the top one anyway...very fine nylon mesh.

Nick.

Check your air intake hose is not delaminating and blocking air flow on high demand.
Thanks all for your replies. This forum is best explained in simple words: no matter how far from each other we live, you are never alone and I am very happy with your help. Thanks guys. Will keep you updated with what I manage to do.
