Isn't that an original 1 tonne vehicle? Certainly isn't a 2b in the sense of a Forward Control...
 

It looks a bit soviet army truckish in that photo :) Looks good!

Isnt there one in Dunsfold and I believe theres one at the land rover experience that needs doing up (saw it in an article in LRO a few years back after they restored the series 3 109 there)
 
i think the one in the first photo is the Dunsfold one, i believe there was only 5 ever built (might have only been 3) there's at most four left as number one was broken up and scrapped

we were discussing these vehicles on the S2 forum about a week ago (might have been considerably longer as i can't find the thread now), they were even fitted with 2.25 turbo diesel engines in the early/mid 60s

i'd love one but laning could get tricky :eek:

I think this design lost out to the 101 forward control.

Unlikely, there's 10 years' difference between the two vehicles. I suspect the "Big Rover" lost out to the 2b FC, and the fact that Rover Ltd. were going through a merger with BMC.
