Hi, recently bought a 1967 series 2a with 2.25 diesel engine used it twice have not been able to start it since, i have replace glow plugs checked the fuel but to no avail, is there anthing i should be checking.Have also replaced fuel filter.

Hi Richard have you checked the shut down solinoid it wont start if thats not energising...let us know your outcome regards cartman690:)

Hi, I have removed the four pipes from the injector pump to the engine one by one and turned over the engine , there is a small pulse of fuel pumped out.
Where is the shutdown solenoid placed. Thanks for the replies.

Hi, I have same engine, 1967

1. You must take out Air from pump
a. In top 1/3 of pump on right side you have two small screw (mm 7 key) -find them (sorry wehicle is currently 250km from here and I can not made picture for you)
b. Find first (near you) unscrew for few circles, then pump manualy on AC pump (before filter) FUEL until fuel come's thru (leak & than fly) unscrwed screw.
c. Close that screw
d. Do same on second one ( litle bit higher on pump) and some 30 degre more far from your point of you...
- THAT IS AIR OUT FROM PUMP -
2. Then you can unscrew pipe from engine (fuel must have speed on going out)
3. Back pipe on ENGINE & START - if can not (that mean you still have an AIR in fuel system) ...

SOLUTION:

Take out Air (from PUMP) few time's (try start, take AIR out & again ) 3-4 time's if still can not for first start use DISELL ENGINE start spray - when you rolling engine to start some body "SPRAY OUT" infront of "DEATACHED" AIR TAKING IN (Deatach from ENGINE SIDE)...

DO NOT SPRAY DIRECTLY TO ENGINE, JUST INFRONT OF AIR SUPLIE...
DO NOT DO THIS OFFTEN...

WHY HAPPEND:
YOU HAVE SOME HOLE IN FUEL SYSTEM (CHECK)

SOLUTION :
WHEN YOU PARK WEHICLE BOTTOM PART PUT TO BE LITLE HIGHER THEN FRONT, THEN YOU WILL HAVE BETER FUEL PRESSURE ON SYSTEM...

(sorry on my bad ENGLISH ;) )
