Just read through this fred, i was hesitant about building a new X member, but a bleedin chassis?? the best bit of metal work i've ever done was this!! :D

Faor play to you .its all about taking that leap an cutting it up then take your time .if you can always make a carboard template they will be slughtly bigger than what you want so you can fettle it down .;) and of course the age old rule the more you do something the more you learn

hi guys i painted the axle and springs and gearbox mount today there all hanging drying (apart from axle) all been painted black for now . was thinking of painting axles red what do you think ?the body is going cream the frost crane is going red . ill upload some pics tomoz of it all black
 
We couldnt help our self's we had to see if the bulkhead lined up .....an it did perfect now to recondition it and get it painted .nw spring bushes and bolt will be here wednesday so will have a rolling chassis vsoon

im liking the red axles, people would look under the landy and see the red axles and think they must have been modified or heavy duty.

Hi there tony the rear axle is a Salisbury axle dont get much stronger than that .an gh I love red axles defines ghe truck .....pica of rolling chassis v soon guys
 
Hi guys does any body know where I can get a new loom for the truck mines okish but think it would be easier to fix problems starting with new loom.and when it comes to electrics I am a beginner I understand basics but thats about it

the weather over in the UK must be starting to get better to do more work,
in australia here we are still having 28-29 deg c temps and its the last month of autumn here, our winters get to about 16deg c in the morning and is about 20-22c during the day, some years it has gotten down to 6-7 at night, out near kingaroy they were getting -1 to-3 c, i usually drive around at night in winter, its nice and cool for the engine and you can see odd things around the place, foxes, hares, snakes, toads, kingaroos and i mean 6 foot plus kangaroos, we have the greys in my region but out west its the reds and they will fight you if they are peed off.

Hi there yes the weather is getting better in uk which means less work gets done because we have to enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts hahaaha so the poor landrover has been abandoned for now and im on my bike enjoying the tarmac :) id love to live in oz
