I just installed bucket seats.. I blocked out my battery access now.. but in the event of me getting to it again it's just 4 bolts..
I installed anderson plugs in the event i need to jump start the battery + added a trickle charger lead.
You can install the seat leg room extenders which give you another 2 inches height wise to put your hand under the seat also

I've been in a couple of Defenders with aftermarket bucket seats and I don't like them. The trouble is you climb up to get into the seat, then drop down into it which just doesn't work for me. The standard seats are absolutely fine when in a good condition, but decades of drivers getting in and out makes the base foam crumble to pieces and then they're uncomfortable. The best option IMO is to just refurbish the originals.

That I cannot agree with more. I got into a friends defender recently and complained loudly to him about how bad his seats were. He had not noticed them wear out over time and when I made him sit in mine (new seat base 9 months ago) he was so astonished by the difference he ordered a new seat bases for himself there and then while stood in the carpark!
