Right before anyone says it...yes its a 5 speed manual & yes it used to be auto....and its also diesel
So...how do i disable this message appearing as i cant see my range/mpg etc whilst it is displayed or while i'm in gear? xx
minor...but bloody annoying lol

Also...wtf is a powerlink box that i see in my passenger inner wing?....seems to go to fuel filter housing & towards engine block?

Does the manual and auto use different transfer box ecus??

Or maybe a setting in the BeCM needs to be told it is now a manual....

Hi I believe that the powerlink is an uprating device. cant help with the message sorry
Thanks..i seen another member Wills had one fitted so i've messaged him on an old 2007 thread to see what the set up is... mines seems to connect to a black sensor via a hose to the fuel filter area???

I've no idea about the BCM or the ECU...i never done the swap... but gotta be a way to either fool it into thinking past the error message

Yes there is a Auto-Manual Gearbox setting in BECM. According to Nanocom guides it can be changed but never needed to try it !!

It can be changed in BECM. It does depend on what was changed with the gearbox, how comprehensive the swap was. Different looms manual and auto. Auto box ECU interfaces with engine ECU so if we don't know what's been changed can't really give a solid answer.

The box is a Power box, ups the power to about 160bhp. Connects to the MAP sensor on the fuel pump and the FIP.
As Wammers said, the message will not go until you sort the wiring & switches for low range at the very least.

Cheers Datatek

Its a bit sluggish on take off but when its driving & u blip accelerator it fairly shifts its ass.
Think the box would cause sluggishness? i did notice that the pipe between the T piece & the MAP was a bit like nearly finished so i replaced it with nice clear pipe.

MAP pipe should be replaced with pipe that will withstand heat and pressure. the M51 has little low down power and the throttle response is unusual in that it only really gets going on the last third of throttle movement, that's why they are better suited to auto as the torque convertor masks the lack of low end.

Yeah the pipe is fine... clear fuel pipe
3rd part of throttle also correct... throws u back in seat it does when it kicks in & can see what u mean by suited better to auto... but still good to have that power on a manual.... even a blip of accelerator u can feel the difference
Unsure what like on fuel tho... what do u think?

With a power box fitted, the fuel gauge is definitely connected to the right foot.

Heavy footed = low mpg.
Light footed = slightly better mpg.

Simples

Its a Range Rover what else do you expect.

That is the roughest estimate ever. If you are getting 40 MPG out of your car, tell Land rover they will buy it from you for good money to strip it and find out how it is happening. :D:D

40mpg:lalala: Lucky if you average 24mpg, less in town, more on a long run at a sedate 60mph. With a power box fitted, the dash display of consumption lies:rolleyes:
