Any advice on trying to restart my freelander its not been turned over for 18 months as I havent been allowed to drive for medical reasons, I believe the breaks have also seized up too.

check the battery, change the oil, spray wd40 on all engine electrics, get your tool kit out.

Check fluid levels.
Get in.
Turn key.
If battery is flat, get jump leads.
Start engine.
Use first and reverse to shock brakes free. Dont be a pansy with it, it might take a fair jolt.
If rears are still seized, chock front wheels to prevent roll away and hit rear drum backplates hard with a hammer.
Drive slowly with light pressure on the brakes to get the discs cleaned up.
Stop and check fluids.
Carry on as normal.

It will be fine. I just did the above with a pug 106 that was given to me. It had been parked up for several years and it went easy enough and is running fine.

The engine is pretty unlikely to have seized after just 18 months.

If it has seized, i will modify my steps posted above.

Check fluid levels.
Get in.
Turn key.
If battery is flat, get jump leads.
If engine is seized, phone scrap yard and ask them to collect it.
Buy new car.
