Hey,

any ideas to try and free these?

- tried a breaker bar
- milwaukee impact
- soaking them in oil
- applied heat

You have to mix it up a bit but i use atf and diesel.. not let me down yet
have to mix the acetone like mad with the ATF but what is good is that the acetone is so thin it gets right into the tiny little places where there is space to do some good.
I am now wondering what it would be like to mix acetone, diesel and ATF and see how that works!

If they are all mixed today then.. the wheel housing has left the chat :vb-fire:

Diesel and whatever ATF i have left... will give it a soak.. anyone know the going price on these housing parts? also are they threaded for the calipers or do they just slot through into and then wind on into the caliper (asking for a friend, my Milwaukee drill and new drill bits). I've got new calipers to go in.

They look like this when new, some have 12point heads, others not - but all are waisted, part thread and supplied with threadlock….

Yeah so with the waisted part can anyone remember taking calipers off recently if they are threaded? or just straight through into the caliper?.. i do have new bolts and new calipers but not really up for testing it when they're thread locked...

The caliper bolts screw into the caliper the mounting bracket is just a hole so if you do go about drilling all you will need is a caliper worst case, although you should be able to salvage the calliper.

All of my experience has seen part threaded only.
 
Ok so tons of heat…

If you’re solo use an aviation spanner. Position your feet like this and knock the **** out of the spanner and it should come free.

Buy new bolts, put a ton of money in the swear jar.

Dont buy commercial acetone buy the synthetic dilutant which is acetone no need to mix as it does it on its own and looks like raspberry juice when you add the two together...

I was thinking "nail varnish remover" (not the "don't contain acetone" type), commercial acetone is a barsteward to get hold of in the UK though you can get hold of it really easily in France.
