me and a mate of mine did a few things to the disco today this included cleaning the sedimentor out, as you would imagine it was full of sludge and nastiness, however when i took it off the car my mate said ''there is a bit missing from there''. he said there should be a sort of umbrella type thing made of plastic in there. is he correct in saying this? and if so what is it for and should i have one really?

Its a D1 300tdi by the way

thanks.

they do have but its not important to running, iwould by pass and remove sedimentor and drain fuel filter at bottom screw once in a while till clean fuel runs

I junked my sedimentor this morning. Completely gone now. Got a new one from a lorry I've just broken to go somewhere in the engine bay as it does serve a purpose :)
