Im sick of the lift pump failing on my 300tdi look-a-like (hs2.8tgv) and am going to replace it with a facet pump.

The setup is generally -

Tank
Sedimenter
Pump
Filter
IP

Im thinking this is in the hopes of the sedimeter taking out anything that would damage the lift pump?

Is that the only reason, or do they fail under positive (rather than negative) pressure?

'Up to 43 GHP' sounds a bit over the top for a 300 TDI with about a 10 (uk) gallon tank, I think you could probably get away with something like a 5 GHP or thereabouts one which would be physically smaller and still have plenty of reserve.
Think I would probably end up selling mine if I were getting through fuel at that rate:eek::D

ps that little one ive just purchased is 25.36 US gallons (theyre smaller than uk gallons)

Hi Kwakerman,

The reason I like the one I posted the link to is because of its rising rate and lowering rate feature, it supplies on demand and whats needed. The other thing is, some are gravity fed, so they have to be placed below the landy and close to the fuel tank.

I will also look at implementing an electric vacuum pump from a newer car, that will need a bit more math and research.

Cheers
