When shooting years back in my 11a I used to find having a springer spaniel or 2 sat on your keee helped warm you up on a cold morning.
Careful when they are muddy n wet at elevenses though.

I have just purchased a new heater matrix.

It came from Motorads Online, it arrived today what a quality product, really well made. No plastic, just copper and brass painted black, made and sold in the UK by Motorads.

Can I drill out the rivets on the heater box and take the front plate off to install the new matrix, then use self tappers to secure it? Also what will be the best product to insulate the new matrix in the heater box to make it as efficient as possible and not to rattle around?

Any advice welcome...

Yes you can drill out rivets and rerivet or use self tappers. Seal the joints with rtv before re assembling.

I used a product called Compraband to seal between matrix and box which is a semi rigid foam seal that expands in one direction but only because I had some lying around.

I've seen people use strips cut from tubular pipe insulation which I imagine lasts well, it's closed cell, can be squished into position and doesn't degrade easily.
