after stripping out the back of my disco, to do the floor, i'm in 2 minds whether or not to put the back seats, back in. does anyone know if i have to notify dvla that i've now got a van..?

You haven't got a van, unless you want to declare it as such.
But then if you ever want to replace the seats, or sell it. . . . .

Don't disturb the DVLA they're too busy f*****g everything else up.

No need to worry. Lots of people take them out,me included. I'd only be concerned if adding seats that aren't on log book.

Oh and thank you, you've just put a big smile on my face.
I've just changed jobs and have left behind the responsibility for a fleet of disabled vehicles and the MONTHLY fight with DVLA who wouldn't send me some tax discs, send duplicates of others, would send me some for vehicles that weren't mine, take six weeks to answer any query then usually inform me that they 'couldn't release that information' to me. When I left there was one vehicle with three registration numbers, complete with three V5s but it wasn't DVLA's fault or problem.

Yippee

You can defo leave the seats out. I had my disco MOT'd with no rear seats, no bumper and no rear SEATBELTS.

you'll need to inform ya insurers as they'll prob call it as a van, if it only has 2 seats. Even if they don't. it's still a "material fact." Don't inform them and they'll have the perfect excuse for not paying out in the event you need to make a claim.

cheers all, heres hoping to getting on it again tomorrow after a hectic week, gonna try and post some pics on at some time...

oh n whilst ya on about seats - i leave my seats in mine as it'd look stoopid cos its a 5 door although they spend most of they're life folded down but if i had a 3 door they'd be the first thing to go!

been hard at it all day today, cutting and welding, then more cutting cos' i found more rust worm...but hey-ho...onwards and upwards!...
STILL CAN'T UPLOAD ANY PICS THOUGH...
