Hi anyone any advice on changing the seats in my series 3 to something comfortable? Nothing too hard no major rebuild to fit just plug n play if possible.

I had disco 1 seats in the front of my old s3.. not that difficult to fit using the disco slider mechanism and some slim box section to act as a spreader and extention to bolt to the original holes... much more comfy but they are a little taller so they may get you too close to the steering wheel depending on how tall you are.

a po put early 90 seats in mine.

they are a bit tatty now but more comfortable than the series seats and you can still access the under seat boxes

afaik the early 90 seats just drop straight in without any modification, naturally I stand corrected if this isn't correct. I also have no idea if there is a difference between the early 90 - pre defender name tag - and the later defender seats, if anyone can put me straight on that matter please do so.

Exmoor Trim "Extreme Trakkers" are great, bit like the Deluxe originals but even better.... and fit straight in on original fixing plates (See photo)

prior to those I actually had old Nissan Micra seats in mine and they were really comfy, but still small enough to leave adequate leg room

Thanks lads for all the help and hints really like the look of the trakkers how comfy are they?

I bought some new replacement "deluxe" ones. Even though they're ****part ones they are very comfy compared to the original knackered flat ones. I didn't suffer from arse or back ache after some long 10 hour plus drives....I am a short-arse though. about £70 the pair.

Re-foam the ones you have ...

Trakkers are really comfy, quite firm, but very supportive - whilst quite modern I think that they also suit the look of a series! I put them on top of a set of original land rover sliding rails (got off ebay for about £15) and the extra bit of height, along with thin profile of the seat, really does make a big difference to the limited leg room in a 88" series landy.... I'd say come and have a try, but notice you're all the way up north!

Does anyone know the seat base size from a series 3 seat runner?
The last bloke ad fitted some rover 200 seat and I bought new delux seats and they are too small!! Arghhhhhhhhh
