I've swapped my late 2A for a 1959 series 2, and I have got used to having no synchromesh :), but the lack of seatbelts is causing me some worry. I know i'm a safe driver but the amount of nobheads who will take stupid risks to overtake me just makes me nervous that if i do crash i'll be wearing the steering wheel as a belt and eating glass. The query is has anyone added belts to their series and what is the best way to do it without spoiling the look?

If it's a rag top you could only fit lap straps as there's nowhere to attach the top end of a shoulder strap.

On my series 3 they have added a bar that connects to the upright bolts behind the seats and goes across the whole width of car. They have then bolted the should strap part to that...

If it's a hard top there are brackets which fit the corner behind the door top and the seat box behind the lower rear door corner. The stalks fit on the rear bulkhead bolts and I've fitted inertials on the top rail of the bulkhead by the doors.

Cheers guys

I am going to want the option of hard top and rag top, so i'll probably have to get the bar from Exmoor trim, but this will look a bit odd I think.
