Previous owner was an elderly disabled chap who it would appear regularly sat in large amounts of chip grease if the driver's seat squab is anything to go by. It should come with a bio-hazard warning.

The squab foam is badly collapsed on the outside where he slid in and out, plus the covers are..... absolutely minging.

I've looked at getting Sparco / Cobra / OMP or similar seats, but by the time you add in new frames and mounting kits, plus found a way to relocate the seatbelt pretensioner, it's a whole pile of cash. Not out of the question, but not really what I want to spend my money on.

Has anyone replaced the squab foam or covers on their Freelander? Any recommendations for suppliers? I'm going to ring around a few upholsterers on Tuesday but thought I would throw it open on here in case there are some freelander specific parts knocking around.

Ta!

hi

had the same with mine, it was a former commercial and the seats were rank as well

went on ebay and bought a full second hand interior, it was part conversion to a 5 seater and included all the trim for 400 quid, but know u dont need all of it

seen complete set of seats starting at 200 quid upwards

there are also individual seats being sold on ebay , but depends what the rest of yours are like

sets of leather ones as well going

at first tried to find new squabs etc but found it more expensive in the long run and just bought a complete set ,

have recentely cleaned all my interior extensively and now going to buy some seat covers to protect the seats

Thanks, that makes sense. Had a sport premium previously and liked the seats in that so that's a good starting point.

no probs mate, i recently replaced a heater matrix in mine and at the same time replaced the dashboard and carpet

stuck a jet wash and shampoo over the carpet and the dirt just poured out

as i had to take out all the seats gave them a good shampoo, then used a steamer and couldn't belive how nice they came up and every time i opened the door found the car smelling considerably better than it useto, being a smoker was horrified in how much crap came out of them

bought the set a few years ago and was nice to give them a good decent spring clean whilst having the entire interior out whilst carrying on with the other works

hope u find a good set if thats the way ur going to go but weighed all the options up and just found a good second hand set came out to be the most cost effective

My seats were looking worn and after looking at replacing with second hand leather without success, as there is a lot of old torn seats in the breakers. I decided to have the existing recovered. Took them 3 weeks to make them up after ordering, then one day to fit (Seat Surgeons in York)

Looks a good job has been done there. How much did they charge ??
:)

You got a picture of your interior? I have a 2000 freelander I was breaking, about to throw the interor away, if its the same il send you the squab for the postage if it helps, its clean but it was a smokers car before so could do with a freshen up.

You are looking at over £800 you can get them a bit cheaper depending on the options you choose (like seat quilted stitching) they can do any color leather/ stitch you want.
Had the car from nearly new and have no plans to change it so invested in these to keep it looking good.

Yes....... That had occurred to me. I opened the ashtray yesterday and whatever it is spoke to me. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

No dosh,

I have a pair of front seats out of a 3dr I was going to take to the tip if you want em, they are actually in pretty reasonable nick, I just couldnt be arsed flogging them :)

Two very kind offers :D. I guess the issue will be transport/delivery as they're pretty hefty. It's really just the driver's side squab that's the problem - if you were able to nip that off we would be golden! Beer tokens in exchange, obviously!
