i know. another one.
didnt find anything regarding. so i may ask.

i would like to exchange the front seats on my 1996 2.5 dei.
now ... i do have airbags.

normally exchanging the Driver and Passenger Seat would require the OBD2 to reset the Airbag Light when exchanging the front seats.

how dos this work on the P38?

( driver seat has rips and is slowly going in to retirement. as i only find expensive second hand not very good ones in the same colour - i finally found a set which have a different colour on, cheap and in very good condition, i would exchange both to match )_# just not sure how to proceed with the airbags and the warning light.
i dont want that coming on with no means of resetting it.

if the battery is disconnected, which is a must when you're unplugging SRS connections, then the ECU wont know whats happened, there shouldnt be any issue, in my opinion

The seats have been changed then 1996 model did not have side impact in the seats. And i doubt your car has had the updated single point SRS ECU or as wiring to the front seats. Single point came in 1998 side impact 1999 and on.

cant see any wires on the seats. and no they are not electric.
there is only the wires to the ecu's on both sides.
thanks.

not lifted the carpets yet. and not taken the time to look properly under the seat. sorry.
eas under passenger seat and some other stuff under drivers. guess becm and no idea what the second one will be.

I fitted the electric seats out of a later V8 with SBS to my manual 2.5 DSE. Just left the yellow wires disconnected. Took the wiring loom rom the V8, plugged it all in to mine and off it went. Only issue was the mirrors went crazy, resetting their position and dipping when reversing - which was a pain as I use the mirrors in their normal position when reversing. just de-activated that function all OK.

I have a tatty pair of manual seats for sale if anyone wants them £50.
