Thought I'd just clean the matts and tidy up the rubbish in the cab this morning... ended up taking out the seat box (that escalated quickly).

The battery box is rotten, the seat box ends need replacing and the sills are rotten.

I know YRM do replacement seat box ends and sills so that sorts that.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement battery box panels? YRM only do a deeper box and I have a aux fuel tank underneath and I need a standard size box.

Also the bottom of the columns on the left and right are rotten. Can these be repaired?

Photos attached for those that like pics.

YRM do the lot. I bought all of those panels from them. I'm sure my battery box is a standard size, not deep. I've got a series of pictures on my rebuild thread of replacing the door b posts. If your interested I'll hunt a link to that part of the rebuild thread.

Look on Ebay for a new seat box, or any of the Facebook groups, save yourself the hassle.

I think I emailed them a while back and they said it was the only one they did, I'll contact them again.

Yes of you could find that would be helpful, is it a pain to replace them?

Ironically now I've taken the seat box out I can't drive and collect one.

Plus I actually quite enjoy repairing stuff

Here you go. LINKY just scroll down the page a little way to see them being fitted. If you have any questions, just let me know.

EDIT
Then jump to here LINKY for the drivers side where I had to cut out a section so the fuel tank would go in. (scroll about half way down the page)

Nice one thanks. Do YRM supply the replacement B pillars?

Yes. Here's the LINKY You can buy either side or both together. The other options are for pop rivets. When you select them it tells you what size they are. There's also a workshop link to show you how they fit them.

I just cut up the seat base ends for repair panels, just rivet them in. Battery box is cut and weld in new metal. Paddocks have the end panels and most other panels as well.

According to eBay britpart do a repair part for the seat box bottom and the inner sides about £140 though , can't post a link as they don't come up on the app or I can't see it . Put defender seat box in and hit search should come up company called bml is selling them.
