Hi can anyone help I want to swap lap belts for 3 point seat belt in my hard top. All the seat belt bar things are for rag tops:(

There is an angled bracket that fits in the top corner behind the door jamb with a captive nut that you fix the upper swivel fixing of the seat belt to... I think I may still have a pair of "unused" ones out in the garage if you are interested?

Ones out of a 90, 110, defender should go straight in, just done it on mine, you should be able to see them in the pics.

Here you go....

I have these brackets but am confused as to how to fit them to the upright. Anyone fitted them and if so how?

Our '80 SW has three-point belts with no upper mount - the reel is on the bulkhead behind the seat, and the belt just comes over the corner of the seat. It's less than ideal, sure, but there's no sign that there was ever anything in that top corner, and the car's generally pretty un-mucked-about-with.

I just drilled holes to match up with the ones on the brackets then stuck some bolts through. Was a bit of an awkward place to drill but shouldn't take too long.

Thanks chaps. Callum you couldn't send me a picture of the vertical nut. I can't get mine in the available space so think I am going nuts.

Just went and took this pic, it was pitch black so just had to point the camera and hope for the best!
Which bit can you not get to fit?

This is the upright when you open the driver door. I can't get the head of the bolt (and therefore the nut) in here. Also it's a box section that I would drill the hole through which means it won't be a particularly strong connection. How does yours look from the driver door looking at the nut? Thanks
