tempting ;) but its another £300 for it!

its an arc, plasma, scratch start tig unit in one (second hand, lincoln electric which are a grand new)

first link in the last post next to where it says 400 one

but this is the manual for it with a proper pic

yeah I know the lincoln wont do ally as it doesn't have a HF start, was offered a big ass murex single phase today

Murex Transtig Tig Welder | eBay

went to look at the one in the link but it was far too big for what I want to do, awesome price though £550 all in with a full 6ft Ar bottle and the cooler, new torch too but just far too big, it was a 300lb welder so no chance of me using that here

also is a single phase but draw will be massive on it, think its a 120A draw on 220v or a 60A draw on 440

if its a lincoln then so be it, lincoln migs are still good

did you look at the big murex tig in the link above ? that was a beast, wish I had the cash/storage space for that but unfortunately not

Lincoln makes damn good welders nothing wrong with them. Just interesting finding where these company's go to and how far there products reach around the world. And how they acquire smaller company's along the way

Yes in the tig but ebay ad said 3 phase

it is a three phase but it runs single phase, I read the manual for it and it seems you can wire it up to two or three phase by swapping round a couple of pins inside

only problem is its size and draw!

no idea if murex are lincoln now or combined into a parent company but still a good set as you say, will be one to last me til I stop welding now at any rate. Just as good as a Migatronic which was my original target but the murex is closer
