I have a freelander 2 sd4, built Jan. 2011 just coming up to 60,000 miles and wonder when the timing belt will need changing and how big a job it is.

Just had mine done on its 10 year service. Had the coolant pump (which is driven by the cam-belt), aux drive belt and all the fluids changed at the same time so its an expensive one. Think the cam-belt is due at 10 years or 150000 miles so guess yours will be 10 years.

Thanks for your replies, seems I have time to start saving.
Any idea of cost.
What is entailed, engine out or not.

I don`t know of the cost as mine was done at the garage I bought it from .
but I do know you don't have to take the engine out.

I paid £506 for a cambelt change including waterpump, autobox fluid change, diff oil change and haldex fluid change at the specialist I use.
He strongly recommended 120k or 10 years and he was the head tech in a main dealer, so I listen to his advice.
Mine was done at 10 years which was 114k, that's why I had all the other stuff done.
