Hi. I have a 12 plate Freelander2 SD4 that seems to want to keep blowing the intercooler pipe. I have had a split top pipe and had the pipe separate both at the top and the bottom of the plastic piece.
So JLR want £160+ for a complete new set bit before I shell out I wanted to know if:
1. If this is a known issue has the new part been modified to stop recurrence.
2. Is there any alternatives that are tested and solve the issue.
3. Would new clips solve the issue and if so which are best.

In the latest incident it looks as if the clip had a little bit of give in it.

Anyone help??

Boost pipes weaken with age, and oil contamination, so it's not uncommon for a 9 year old boost pipe to fail.
There's generally only an issue, if the same boost pipe fails twice in short succession.

I get my LR parts front AF.

Thanks for this. The top pipe failed first, after about 9 years, and had complete new set put on. The issue now is the joints coming apart. So I'm thinking the clamps were not good.
Will check out your suggestion.

That's not unusual TBH, the boost hoses do deteriorate as mentioned above.

Didn't the factory hose clips get refitted?
They should be good enough for the job.
If cheap hose clips were used, they will fail to hold the pressure.
