My multifunction screen on my l322 has gone blank back light still lights up radio still working but screen itself is blank showing no display at all any suggestions of fault cheers

Common problem

The ribbon cable supplying power to the LCD display fails

Usually early signs are only a few pixels missing

Doesn't sound like this is the problem

Are you taking about the MID / stereo screen or the dash instrument screen ?

If it is the TV/Sat Nav screen....find Fuse 49 and pull it for 30 seconds...this usually resets the screen!

If it is the MID display....do as Hippo Suggests!

Water in the kit in the nearside rear of the boot is a common problem causing corrosion in the connectors at the very least.

Cheers lads I'm talking about the screen in the centre of the dash above the heater control panel that displays the stereo / sat nav/ the screen display rolls down with a tape deck behind and the multiplayer in the glove box if this helps if you pull fuse 49 is that with ignition on / engine running / or everything off with key out thanks lads

Thanks guys for the info but still no joy it's still blank any other info or possible solutions cheers

I might be totally wrong, but here it goes. Push the menu button on the centre screen, the look at the menu option for Monitor on/off, if it is set to off the change it to on.

If this is right then it's because I was playing with the bells and whistle and found it that the screen lights up but the display has gone.

Does sound like water ingress in the rear, maybe time to start stripping them out, checking for corrosion around the pins as data suggests

Thanks to datatek had a good check in the Nsr quarter and found pin 1 on the blue plug had corroded away completely so replaced pin terminal and hard wired it direct problem fixed thanks again to all that replied

I've done a couple like that:( Now fix the water leak and check all the other connectors before you end up needing a new DSP etc. The LR mod is to fit a plastic bag over the top of the kit.

Any one had issue with say nav screen. Have built in rear DVD screens when playing a DVD all good in the back. However if I switch front satnav screen to tv get same as rear but its a constant rolling picture

That's prob to stop you watching the tv whilst driving . If you don't have screens in the back you can't watch tv whilst driving, so makes sense I guess?

Datatek sir, you are a legend. Pulled out the blue connector, positive signs of corrosion, quick clean and "hey presto!!!" Thank you :)

Ok this is a nightmare I, just bought as/h unit for RR and screen still refuse to come , I have checked blue plug on the module and it shouldn’t be to blame. For the failure. .
There is a back light but nothing more but for radio cd etc. working. Help needed

To further this , can I dismantle the blue plug I that has the overlocking lever on it , i think this unit is responsible for controlling the display to the central monitor but open to any correction at this point? I have a suspicion it needs investigating , the black internals look like they might click out.
